It is the case of Orange, which proudly announced its deployment plan on its blog and in press releases, meeting deadlines with 121 municipalities a month and a half ago that now become 295 cities within 38 provinces who can now enjoy Orange's 5G network.

The orange operator also dares to affirm that very soon they will reach coverage above 51%, hoping to arrive before the end of this year 2021 to more than 400 cities and towns in Spain combining NSA and DSS technologies. Already in 2022, its deployment plans would be completed exceeding 90% of 5G coverage.

For now, Orange arrives with 5G to the main cities, including Madrid, Barcelona, ​​Valencia, Seville, Zaragoza, San Sebastián, Bilbao, A Coruña, Lugo, León or Santander, among others, in addition to populations of great tourist importance such as Cádiz, Ibiza, Ceuta, Melilla, Gran Canaria, Mojácar, Denia, Formentera or Fuengirola. They also already have coverage in other strategic areas with great business activity and commercial as Cáceres, Salamanca, Córdoba, Elche, Badalona, ​​Logroño or Valladolid.

What is 5G and how does it work?

The numbers are certainly not trivial, and Orange has managed to double its coverage in just 6 weeks, reaching 23% of the population with 5G available in all available bands, including also the 10 MHz awarded in concession to Orange in the last auction of the Ministry, within the spectrum of 3.5 GHz.
