Android Auto is making its way into the market and more and more models are compatible with Google's multimedia system for vehicles, and one of the next manufacturers to join it will be the legendary Porsche. The firm has already communicated its intention to incorporate several models of its line to Android Auto from the year 2022.
The German manufacturer has announced that in 2022 its new multimedia operating system for vehicles will arrive, known as Porsche Communication Management, equipped with 10.9-inch screens to control key parts of the car by touch, and also to use it as a multimedia center . And this system will come with Android Auto incorporated.
Android Auto and Apple CarPlay for the 2022 Porsche
Until now, the multimedia systems of Porsche vehicles were focused almost exclusively on Apple Car, but that is about to change and this has been made known by the brand in one of its latest statements. One that indicates that Android Auto is on its way and that we will see it arrive on board its models next 2022.
Until recently, Android Auto came to Porsche vehicles through updates to old models but now the German firm has communicated that Android Auto will also be on board the new cars from the year 2022, and that the first to incorporate it from the factory will be the next Porsche 911.
Porsche PMS will maintain Apple CarPlay compatibility
In addition to the arrival of Android Auto to the new vehicles of the firm, the next Porsche will also offer a 3-month trial subscription to SiriusXM with 360L that we may not renew in case we are not interested in the service.
Porsche indicates that this update to its Porsche Communication Magament will not cause Apple CarPlay compatibility to be lost so owners of the next 2022 Porsche 911 will enjoy compatibility with both services from the moment they get a new car.
