Swap your Windows 10 sound effects for these classic sounds sung a cappella

Something that perhaps was lost with more modern versions of Windows like Windows 10, were those iconic sounds like Windows XP logon sounds or Windows Vista, and although surely more than one of them was bothered or seemed unnecessary, others did like them.

This funny video of a Korean a cappella music group called MayTree went viral a couple of days ago because they dedicated it to singing some of the Most recognizable Windows sounds over the years, and the result is a lot of fun.

How to change your sounds in Windows 10

In the video, this group of artists reproduce with their voices the sounds of:

  • Windows XP Login

  • Windows Vista startup

  • The sound effect when connecting a USB device

  • Sound when disconnecting a device

  • The error sound in Windows

  • The shutdown sound in Windows XP

If it happened to you like me and it seemed a silly thing but at the same time great, and you would wish, for whatever reason, use those sounds in your own operating systemWell, it is possible. I personally took the trouble to isolate each sound separately, export them in .WAV format, and upload them to the cloud.

The package with all the effects sung a cappella can be downloaded from this link. If you want to use one of these sounds in Windows 10, you have several options. A very simple one is to use third party software like Soundpackaer uploading your own .WAV files that you have already downloaded.

Cambair System Sounds

The other option is to do it manually from the Windows Control Panel. For this the simplest is open the Start Menu, write "change sounds" in the search engine and select the option "Change system sounds".

Windows Sounds

In the next window you will find a list with all the Windows 10 events that have sound effects, and by clicking on them you can select "Browse" to change the sound to your own that you have stored in a folder.

You have to select "Apply" for it to take effect, and you can use the same sound in as many options as you like. My recomendation is maybe change the system notification sound to one of theseIt's the most common sound in Windows 10 and it could do with a facelift.
