The Xiaomi Redmi Y3, Redmi 7, Redmi 6 and 6A will be left without MIUI 12

With an almost infinite catalog of terminals, it was obvious that some of the Xiaomi and Redmi were going to run out of MIUI 12 ... And to begin with, the victims will be the Redmi Y3, Redmi 7, Redmi 6A and Redmi 6!

Much has been said in the last days of Xiaomi updates, and it is that the enormous catalog of the Haidian giant makes it impossible to guess all the smartphones of Xiaomi, Redmi and Poco that will receive Android 11 not even by elimination.

A list published in leaks a few weeks ago and that we had already commented, expanded in any case a posteriori to confirm the inclusion by surprise of the Redmi Note 8, without specifying in any case which devices were starting to fall off the MIUI 12 train and a list of news as powerful as expected.

Xiaomi

Xiaomi's catalog is so vast that some have to stay without news.

It was a matter of time, anyway, before they started to appear Xiaomi names with discontinuation of support in MIUI 11, and the first smartphones that run out of updates were published by xda-developers following the thread of a message on the Mi Fans channel on Telegram which read the following:

Please note that the following device models that were originally included in the MIUI 12 release schedule will not be finally updated due to compatibility and performance issues: Redmi Y3, Redmi 7, Redmi 6 and Redmi 6A.

Are four basic cut models and belonging to the firm's catalog spin-off Redmi, two of them born in 2018 and another two in 2019, the Redmi 7 and Redmi Y3, which against prognosis will be anchored in MIUI 11 with only one major update throughout its commercial life.

Surely the decision will not like its users too much, although it is also true that if the performance was not as expected in the manufacturer's tests, it is almost better to stick with the firmware that works rather than offering an upgrade with limited or inadequate experience.

Thus, none of the Redmi Y3, Redmi 7, Redmi 6 and Redmi 6A will be able to access the new animations of MIUI 12, the improved navigation gestures, the new interface with a flatter design, the new wallpapers with movement, the improvements in privacy or long-awaited options like multi-window... Very bad news if you have one of these terminals, without a doubt. We are sorry!
