Clubhouse officially lands on Android

more than a million changes in a month

Loyalty is not the most prominent feature of users.

Changes between operators are something normal and that companies assume normally. They all play with attracting outside customers with offers specially focused on reward portability. However, this year there have been figures of unfaithful users never seen to date.

According to data shared by the National Commission of Markets and Competition (CNMC), last September there were more than a million operator changes adding the figures for mobile and fixed telephony. The biggest culprits in this unprecedented record are football television rights and the beginning of the school year, although they are not the only ones.

The difficult economic situation has taken a toll on consumers, who have sought more assiduously if possible than the normal downward offers to continue to enjoy the best rates spending as little as possible. Precisely this fact explains the significant growth of low-cost companies.

Million portability division

operator changes

The dance between telephone operators reached its maximum exponent last September.

Of the total amount of portability in September, approximately 750,000 correspond to mobile numbers. If we look at the same period of 2019, the numbers are notoriously lower, 669,791 line transfers between operators. In total, the CNMC registered 54.9 million mobile lines in September, 1.5% more than the previous year.

If we talk about landline numbers, the increase in portability is really significant. Specifically, their fixed 253,811 users migrated, for the 193,000 of 2019. In percentage, these figures represent an increase of 31%. Likewise, with the September records, the total number of fixed lines rises to 15.65 million, of which 11 million correspond to fiber optics. In this section, Movistar is the undisputed leader with a market share of 40.7%.
